Where Can I Buy Factory Quality Wire?

Post by kimokalihi »

Is there a way to buy the same gauges and quality wire, preferably with the same colors and stripes as the OEM wiring harness in subarus? Also connectors would be nice too.

Pull the harness out of a car in the junkyard?

I know all the stuff at Ace, Home Depot, Lowes, etc, is not the same, but it works. Unless you have a hookup for something from Thomas & Betts, or some other telecom supplier, you are going to have a hard time. Good luck.

lol um don't. Most wire from autos are a mid grade anyway. find a local stereo shop that will sell you colored wire off thier spools.

Alright. The wire I have sucks. It's some cheap wire from walmart or something. Only have black and red too.

I'd suggest getting wire from JC Whitney. You can order it in various colors and spool lengths. That's what I use for all my wiring, it's good wire.

Click on item details for all the colors and lengths.

Also, for connectors, these guys are awesome. Bought a couple small connectors and they sent a hand written note with it. Old-school customer service and cool product. I'll be buying as much stuff for Tigershark (or Dragonfly—I can't make up my mind, so I'm leaving it to the gods and if I come across a cheap Cessna 150 Omnivision fuselage) through them.
