Great deal?

Post by Danny-G »

I just got back from the local wrecking yard and theres a '90 wagon with a 22t swapped in and a jdm twin turbo 2.0 sitting in the back. The yard wants 350 for the 2.0 and I know thats a great price but would it be worth it to make an offer on the 22t as well for the block since it is closed deck and all. Both motors are complete and the guys at the yard are pretty sure the 2.0 is a runner. Should I try to get both or just the 2.0?

$350 is meh. If you have an idea of what you want to do with it. Not a bad deal but not an amazing deal. You can get $300-$500 for the EJ22T shortblock or even the case halves. The EJ20H is a pain in the ass to get to work in your car. Get the EJ22T and the EJ20H and swap the heads and use the EJ22T with the EJ20H heads in your car. Then sell both motors you have left over or find another set of DOHC heads and slap them on to your EJ22E with some different pistons and then you have another cool engine.

If it were closer I'd go get them myself.
