Hey there. Now before I ask my question I want to explain something. I'm relatively new to cars (I drove a motorcycle first) so all there parts and termonology kinda eludes me. To put it simply I know i can search for what I want to know and I do but theres to much for me to swallow. The learning curve gets kinda steep when I wanna know something and theres like 10 pages of post. So I just need some help getting the right info. Thanks.
Ok so now thats done. I hear people saying the most I can tune on my car ( A 1993 FWD Legacy) is handling. But no one says what I can do. Like what are good struts? Springs? Other parts that help? And most of all where can I buy the stuff cuz finding it ain't easy. Thanks, Rob.

Not really. What is your intended use? It's kind of like asking, "what is the best bicycle?" without qualifying its intended use. My ideas usually don't fall into line with established thinking, so my idea of good suspension would differ from others. Most people mean stiff and minimal travel for ultimate dry grip on fantasy smooth roads. I like something that's little to no maintenance, is easily adjustable in a turn, can allow me to jump islands and curbs, and hit a gravel road. I find racing boring as it doesn't involve violence. I like a stunt car daily driver, not a race car. My preference is stock springs with KYB GR-2s. They're cheap, offer a little more stiffness, but don't kill the ride, and take a moderate urban/occasional gravel beating short of rally cross. Other people would have other suggestions, but the suspensions on these cars and their entire design, really, isn't very conducive to ultimate lateral g handling so I don't see the point in that choice even if it were my preference—I'd buy something else if that was my goal.

Well my friend you answer my question perfectly. I do understand my question was vague and I intended it that way. But I couldnt agree with you more. If I didnt want to tear up dirt and pop so curbs I would have bought a cadilac instead.

I would also suggest the KYB GR2's. I had them on my car when it was FWD and they do add to the handling. Another cheap upgrade is getting the rear anti-sway bar from a turbo Legacy. The stock rear bar is relatively small. There were a few 92-93 legacies that did not have a rear anti-sway bar, so if you don't have one, just putting one on will help.
