fwd 4eat linkage question
I did a transmission swap out of a same year/make legacy (91 fwd) and everything looked good until I tried to put the linkage on and realized its about 1/2'' too long. is there a way to adjust the length of the linkage that goes from the gear selector stick to the inhibitor switch? It seems like it should be something simple but just sliding it on causes it to be in reverse when it says it's in park. seems that its a set length, is there a shorter one on other models? the only difference between the two cars is mine is a wagon and the donor was a sedan. thanks in advance.

No ideas huh? well I guess I'll figure it out on my own. keep you guys posted.... or not.

I would think you can just adjust the cable to take up the slack. Is the gear selector position in the same spot that the inhibitor switch is? If the inhibitor switch was in D and the gear selector is in P that would account for the difference in cable length.
