The beam pattern is different (much better) and they never yellow with age.mx4life wrote:Whats the difference on the EDM lights?

Re: Member's Car Thread
^ Exactly. They have a Glass lens rather than plastic... they also have a much more defined beam cut-off Ill post pics soon of the pattern. You can also add a leveling switch that comes factory in some cars overseas, it changes the beam height in-car. Im trying to source out the parts to get it all hooked up... Pretty much the best (only) lighting upgrade available for our cars...

Re: Member's Car Thread
I got mine from Ben AKA:- Legacy4ever He did a super good job packaging the lights. They came in perfect shape. The lights are year specific. There is the pre-facelift and the post-facelift. Check the Part Shed frequently. Thats what I did took me about 2 months of checking once every other day but yeah they come up. Also be ready to hop on them when they come up cause they sell quick.

Re: Member's Car Thread
Yes, as the guy above you mentioned, they're not interchangeable without a lot of work (think: new hood, fenders, bumper)

Re: Member's Car Thread
I'm new to the board. I decided to start out posting my wagon.
Bit of a story behind it. My Subie addiction started out a year ago with an 81 Brat GL I got for $200. It ran, had 80K miles, but the body was terminal with rust. It lasted me a year before giving out. By then I was hooked.
![Image](http://a3.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc4/39196_1524758674974_1114842834_31526157_4103949_n.jpg)
That lead me to hunt down another daily driver and with tax time upon us, cheap deals were hard to find. No Subie that I was able to find was in our very limited price range. I had a few leads but unfortunately they were not cars I really wanted. So we took a trip to a buyhere/payhere to see what I could get into with a low payment.
As we got a block away from the place my wife spotted a Subie, a game we have done since I got the Brat. She saw one parked behind a garage and it peeked my interest. So we stopped at the dealer and looked around. The only thing I saw worth anything was a 5 speed Escort for 3K. I asked the dealer who owned the garage down the street. It turned out that it was their shop. I asked about the Subie.
It turned out to be a 98 Legacy Outback. He said it had low miles and needed the engine put back in. I asked him how much he wanted for it and he said he could get $300 for scrap or $750 as it sat. He said I could take a look. What I found had me ready to grab it as is, but fortunately my wife reigned me in. It was clean, only a few minor dents and only one rust spot from on ding but only surface. The interior looked new and very clean. The engine was sitting in the back. It's a 5 speed with 127K miles on it.
![Image](http://a7.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash1/180924_1807396740749_1114842834_32120584_54781_n.jpg)

After talking to the mech I found out that the head gaskets were in the process of being replaced when it got mothballed for time reasons. Everything needed to fix it here in the back with the engine. I caught my mech in the area and had him look it over with me. He said everything looked like it was thee and in good condition. We went to talk the dealer down. I offered $300 and off the lot that day. He chewed on it, talked to the owner fir a min and came back with $500. If I waited a day or two he would go for $300 but hey would take the gasket set back. My Mech and I talked it over and we both knew the set is worth $200 easy, $500 was a steal, so I agreed and now I am an owner of my second Subie.
These pics were taken after it got dropped off.

At this point the engine is being rebuilt and I'm itching for it to get done soon.

I figured i'd post a some pictures of my car as well. It's the first Subaru i've owned, and I don't think i'll ever buy a different kind of car again! These pics were taken at the Callahans, just outside of Roseburg Oregon.

Yeah, you gotta love AWD. Not to mention the car is completely stock, besides the new parts I put on it to get it running. It was hands down the best $950 i've spent in my intire life. I plan on lifting it soon because the roads where I live are a bit treacherous, and like to break my cars. Subaru's are definitely built tough:)cartwheels wrote:Those dogs are adorable. Lol. The Pug is my girlfriends, and the Blue Dapple is both of ours, and my dog is their runnin around some where around their. Funny thing is, my dog is my car alarm, he doesn't let anyone get close to my car:) He's a Great Dane Black Lab mix, and he's the best car alarm i've had. lol. I don't even have to lock my car up.

Some trivia: This shot was taken on Sept 6th 2010, two days after a 7.1 earthquake struck the region. Since then we've had 7500+ aftershocks, two of a magnitude of 6.3 that ruptured off two parallel fault lines. (the first 6.3 aftershock claimed 180 lives). Re: Member's Car Thread
Cheers guys. My missus's sister lives on a dairy farm and this was our first visit out there, slight detour on a dirt road to get onto the farm
. But I'd just cleaned the ol girl (car not the missus) so thought I'd take it easy, but the sight of a 'muddy' patch on the road side was to much to resist... so yeah, I booted it..
I was shooting scenery shots and shot this as a snap (Will upload full piccy), forgetting to wipe away the poo. Now, what ya don't see in that shot is the rest of the 'mud' um poo; all up the the left hand side, and caked in up under the wheel liner lol.
You could say the skid-marks ended up on me![Sad :(](./images/smilies/icon_sad.gif)
