I figured out, on the 8th, why my o2 sensor is throwing a code. There aren't any wires connected to it and I swear its been like that for years... Now I know I'm going to need a new one but I'm not sure why it started giving me issues about two months ago. The only problem it gives me is a random power loss after a hard right turn, like if I take a right quickly then get back on the gas the motor almost dies and I have to wait about two seconds before pushing the gas. I believe its only done that a total of seven times since the cel came on with the o2 sensor code. I also noticed, on 3/16/11, that theres an open connector on the right side of the transmission and the speedo cable is right by it, the connector also points toward the exhaust. Would that be the o2 sensor connector? The connector in question is pictured below.

That is the O2 sensor connector. That will cut your fuel mileage in more than half.
Another question for anybody that knows about O2 sensors, can I use any O2 sensor (like the new one I have for my 2000 Outback sedan) and just join the 3 wires to my 93 Turbo downpipe sensor? I don't need the spare one so i'd like to save the 100$ if possible.
Ok, so I got a sensor side connector from the junkyard today and I'm not sure what wires connect to the sensor. Theres a white, red, and black on the connector and one black and two white ones on the sensor. Anyone got a pinout of the o2 sensor or know what wires need to be connected?

More than likely the red & black are for the heater circuit. You can use a multimeter to check the resistance of the wires. The heater circuit wires will have some conductivity, while the sensor wire should not have conductivity with the heater circuity wires, but would have conductivity with the sensor body.
