what I learned about IACV

I learned a few things

1. dont mess with the damn thing itll drive you nuts.

2. Make sure your splices are good.

3. PIA is the end all subaru repair shop.

But im still having problems. They fixed a few things, such as bad ground and crossed wires from changing the computer( apparently they changed the wires between 92 and 93 ). the two computers caused a crossed wire from different wire positions making the valve full open instead of closed. .

So the problem i have now is that it idles ok and normal most of the time, but i noticed that theres still a wire that has copper showing.
Just wondering if that would still be causing me problems with sporadic CEL and crappy idle?

So they're saying that the "Open" & "Close" leads for the IAC valve are reversed between the 92 & 93 turbo Legacy?

You sure the wiring wasn't swapped at the IAC valve?

Yeah that sounds fishy. Why would anyone switch those pins? Doesn't make any sense.

the color of the wires matched and there a good shop so i trust that they know there stuff. I mean i wouldnt be surprised either that subaru would do that. I mean come on these cars run mostly on voo doo. Im still having a grounding issue though. old wires.

Hm, I never had a moment of electrical problem. But since I'll be changing from 1990 N/A to 1993 turbo ECU, I hope this doesn't become an annoyance.

i hope not either. I mean i wouldnt put it past a manufacturer to do something like that. Im still having a grounding problem though. Im wondering if i can just take that ground wire off the harness and ground it somewhere else? does anyone think thatll work?
