I'm currently in the middle of removing the interior to fix my leaking sunroof for the 92 ss as its just raining every day
As i was checking the wiring I noticed that my dome or map lights are not turning on but if i switch my dome light to the middle position then open a door the light comes On just fine. I cant remember the last time its worked because I never drive my the car at night to notice.
Any ideas on what I could check? the bulbs are not blown.

The main dome light has three positions, in the middle it's set for the door, towards the front of the car it should be on, and towards the back it should be off. If it works in the middle by the door, but not in the forward position then you may have a problem with the switch.
As for the map lights, you'd have to see if you have power to the lights. Also, it grounds itself through the bolts that hold it to the chassis, so if those are not connected the lights won't work.

-Solved- really!? That explains a lot, this whole time I'm looking for the ground cable lol I'll test it in the morning as theyre not bolted to the chassis.
