king front springs on wrx struts in my 92 ss

Post by sliverumble »

Ok i have a 92 ss with wrx front struts and wrx king springs and im wanting to drop the front about a half inch to inch to level the height out. The back definitly sits a bit lower. Ive toyed with the idea of yanking the front springs out and cutting part of the top coil off and shaving it flat where needed to shorten the spring a bit. Would this totally change the spring rate? I dont think such a minute change would be an issue or am i wrong. Please advise.

Thanks,
Grant

I think it depends on whether the springs are progressive or linear. If their linear, it shouldn't, however every spring is going to have some non-linearity in it.

You could try it, but I'm not sure you'll like the results from a ride perspective.

Yeah the springs are progressive so the coils get tighter as the coil rises. Im just a little tired of the front looking higher then the rear. Thanks for your 2 cents
