Hi! My name is Luis Ignacio from Chile. I've been registered from a long time (presentation done) but now i have a really kind of "urgent" question for a friend.
His '90 Legacy was stolen about 3 years ago and now is a monument of dust and plants in the "parking lot" (i don't now how do you say it) of the police department . The things is he finally wants (and have the money)to recuperate his loved BC5 but the assholes who stolen erased all the "visible" VIN numbers.
Do you know a hidden VIN location on the BC5? The engine and "pillar" between windows are checked and no signs.
Before:
And now
Thanks!
If you would like send an PM, i have no problems...

The firewall, dash, and build placard on the door pillar are the only places I know of. Too late for your friend, but you can also have the VIN etched into the glass as a security measure.
That was a beautiful Legacy. I hate thieves.
Midnight in a Perfect World on Amazon or order anywhere. The first book in a quartet chronicling the rise of a man from angry criminal to philanthropist. Midnight... is a distopic noirish novel featuring 'Duchess', a modified 1990 Subaru Legacy wagon.
Idk if this was just on my 00 RS. But, check the rear deck lid underneath right side and on the left or right side strut behind all the padding/interior junk. My RS had them there too. Not sure if it was aftermarket stamping but it was there too. Also check out NASIOC.com another great resource for information on our cars. Someone might have another place that is hard to get to that might have the VIN emblazed on the car. Good Luck.
The one in the engine bay on the fire wall is stamped into the metal and cant just be pealed off. But if they were real jerks... well considering they already did this they already deserve a punch in the throat... but they would really have to grind the crap out of that VIN to get it to go away as it is stamped in there pretty good.
