Factory mud guard question.

Post by Danny-G »

Simple question. Is this gap normal on stock mud guards?
Image
Could the gap be due to the mud guards being off a '91 and my car being a '93? The gap isn't a big problem, just wondering if its normal. Oh and does anyone know if wagon rear mud guards will fit a sedan? I'm thinking about getting the rears too if I ever have to sell the car but if the wagon ones won't almost fit then I won't bother.

the little gap is normal.. i snagged some off a 93' to put on my 91' had the same gap thing goin on..
not sure on the wagon flap fitting a sedan.. if they are cheap tho it couldn't hurt to try.. could always sell them pretty easily since they are hard to find..

My 1990 has 1990 flaps and they're like that as well. If you think about it, why would they spend millions of dollars to change the stamping equipment to make an imperceptible change to major structures of the car for a facelift? Subaru never changed anything they didn't absolutely have to—even the heads are symmetrically cast.
Midnight in a Perfect World on Amazon or order anywhere. The first book in a quartet chronicling the rise of a man from angry criminal to philanthropist. Midnight... is a distopic noirish novel featuring 'Duchess', a modified 1990 Subaru Legacy wagon.
