Outter tie rods

Post by samurai »

got a quick question before i buy the part i have a 92 legacy l and was wondering if other year outer tie rods would fit? like 90-94. i found a 93 pair on sale but figured i'd ask before blindly buying it to see if the "lego" theory holds up in this area. thanks for the help in advance.

The tie rods got a different part # for the 93-94 MY's. From my experience with my Impreza the new tie rods are straight and don't have the slight bend in them that the 90-92's have.

You can see the straight tie rods in this picture from my Impreza

Here's a pic of the curved tie rod from the Legacy

Will they interchange? Probably. I'm not sure if the curve is a clearance issue or something to do with the steering geometry. Maybe others can chime in.
