Hey guys, either this weekend or the weekend after that I am doing a number of things to my car:
- Td04 Install (New UP gasket, Oil outlet pipe & gasket, DP gasket is only a few months old)
- Replumbing all of the PVC lines that will break
- Clean and or replace IAC Valve
- Valve Cover Gaskets and grommets
- oil filler o-ring
I was curious if there is anything else that you guys would recommend replacing or checking while all this stuff is off. I realize that this isn't that big of a job, but this is the first time Ive even "opened up" the motor on this car. Thanks ahead of time,
Matt

Re: What all should I replace?
How about those o-rings under the cap on the passenger head, rear cam seal.
1 qty. 806946030
2 qty. 806915110
While the turbo is off, if you have not changed those seals, that would be a good time.

Word.
Wish I had replaced my rear cam seals when I did my upgrades.

Matt, sounds like you have a decent start.
Refreshing seals can add up quickly. But if your budget allows and you haven't already done it - I would highly recommend replacing all your vacuum lines. Nice new flexible lines seal a lot better.
BTW - you making it out to auto-x at the end of July?

Re: What all should I replace?
Thanks for the input fellas! Money is a little tight at the moment, but I think I have most of the expensive stuff already so replacing a few gaskets and o-rings here and there will work its way into my budget one way or another.
Lee, if I remember I will probably head out there, but not quite sure if I will be able to race. I can't stop dumping money into my car damnit.... haha you know how that goes

Re: What all should I replace?
I realize I'm bumping an old old thread, but the time has come to do my swap. For the part # 806915110, do I want 2 per side (4 total), or are they only on the passenger side, meaning I only need 2? and where exactly do these go? having a hard time picturing where they go.
Re: What all should I replace?
You only need two of those o-rings. They are used to seal the coolant & oil feed lines between the block & plate.

Re: What all should I replace?
Ok, I have never pulled a subie motor out (saturday will be my first
), so I didn't really understand what he is talking about. I will certainly try to get some of those from the stealership tomorrow!
thanks

Re: What all should I replace?
hehe, the local dealership's prices are absolutely ridiculous. They didn't have these o-rings in stock so I guess I'm waiting for the next time I pull the motor (next time will be for a rebuild, cometic HGs, ARP studs, etc.)
