Replacement Floor Mats-Any Good Fits

Post by Subaru_Nation555 »

My Legacy floor mats look their age and it is time to replace them. I like the idea of the Subaru all weather mats but was wondering what make/year will be the closest fit to the contours of my car? The 2005-2008 Legacy/Outback ones look like an okay fit. Also, does anyone know if they will stay in place without the little nub thing on the floor? Thanks.

For what it's worth, on all my Legacies I've just gotten the rubber floor mats from Costco. They stay put quite well. On the manual transmission models I had to trim a little bit out to make sure the clutch pedal went all the way down with no problem, but a pair of tin snips made that really easy.

You can make a nub thing to hold the mats. Just take a thin piece of aluminum and put a hole in it to secure it to the driver's seat bracket bolt and run it out a few inches.

The standard all weather mats fit fine.

I also have a set of the black STi mats that I use in the summer. They fit ok.

I have a friend whos parents drive an 2007 Outback with the all weather mats and they're very nice, so I decided to pick up a set for the 2005-2008 Legacy/Outback for $40 plus shipping. I'll post up some pics when they arrive next week.

Got the mats in today and I think they fit pretty well. The backs drop in just fine and the passenger side fits nicely. The drivers side is inherently going to be the worst fit but it's not too bad. These mats have little rubber spikes that help them stay in place and they seem to work well. For $55 shipped I am pretty happy. No more worrying about dirty passengers ruining my carpets.

Revisiting this...factory mats slide on the drivers side regularly or get caught on the clutch. Anyone have a weathertech "tray" type floor mat they found that fits? Otherwise...i am off to costco to try theirs.

My STi mats never seem to have that issue...

Im with vrg3. The costco rubber floor mats are an economical solution. I would go with the subaru all weather if i could afford it though....

I have a set of the subie all weather ones...clutch gets caught when the mat slips. I guess I may need to creatively anchor it.
