came out of the grocery store and saw Angel glistening wet on a shiney wet parking lot just looking all sexy so I had to take a pic... Unfortunatly most of the artistic value was lost to the poor quality of my Phone camera, passing traffic, and the lady that parked on the far side of me that seemed more interested in what I was doing than getting on with her shopping.

Finally got around to starting the engines nose rebuild.

Bit of unsettling info. Shes had a rattle comming from the engine bay. Ive specualted that it might be a loose belt cover or some such. last mechanic that had her speculated on a bad Hydraulic Actuator for the timing belt. Tearring her down I was rotating the motor by the crank bolt and I can here a thin metalic rattle comming from the BACK of the engine when the engine comes off compresion. I think the bozos at AAMCO didn't tighten down the crank/Flexplate/torqueconverter correctly. *le sigh*

near $600 worth of parts.... kinda sad.

$308 for a *timing rebuild kit* I had to call my ragaholics anonymous sponsor when I found out their Kit did not include either a "Hydraulic Actuator" (listed by subaru as a tensioner. their so-called tensioner is the oversized pully that is at the end of the "Hydraulic Actuatot") OR a timing belt.....

$30 for the timing belt

$100 for a NEW (not rebuilt/remanufactured/refunded/rebated) waterpump.

$150 for a Tensioner. (Or hydraulic actuator if your Duralast)

Wait, so what did the timing belt rebuild kit consist of? Reminds me of a friend who got an extended warranty on a used Aurora, but they didn't consider the radiator or water pump to be part of the warrantied cooling system when he had issues later. I never would have let that drop, but he did (and it was over $850, too?!).

The kit consisted of 4 idlers(Upper left in the picture). 2 small smooth, one toothed (goes next to the water pump) and a big one that goes next to the "Hydraulic actuator" which is what they term a tensioner. Part of what pissed me off is that I made sure that there was a tensioner in the kit before ordering it, Not realizing that I may have to make sure the manufacturer didn't creatively rename the parts.

I like the GTs better. I LOVE the Prodrive P-1s witch is why I got them, Didn't like them on my car as much but the color grew on me. Still thinking im going back to the GTs when these tires wear out.

On to current business. After something like a YEAR I finally broke down and did the sway bar installs. Due to Clearance issues the front swaybar required multipull fittings and reworking the clearancing.

So. for comparison. Font Whiteline 24mm adjustable with Urathane bushings vs OEM w/Rubber Bushings

Rear Whiteline 24mm adjustable with Urathane Bushings vs OEM w.rubber bushings.

The differance? OMMFG Suspension is slightly stiffing in a straight line and a TON stiffer in the bendys. Turn in is RIGHT M F NOW B***H. Seriously happy with this upgrade and wish I hadn't waited a year to do it.
