WRX Coolant tank instrall!

Post by Redlined »

OEM thermoplastic coolant tank failed leaving me on the side of the road, picked up a METAL wrx coolant tank.

mock up of the OEM tank unattached but sitting in stock location

"relocated" OEM tank as it was used.

everything out!

The lower hose needed to be replaced, as it was a few inches to short. The hose to the turbo was replaced when I "Relocated" the OEM tank for the intercooler install.

new tank in place

All patched back together and looking like it was born there.

Now... I got all excited, splashed some coolant into the tank and ran for town.. resulting in me sitting on the side of the road with a steaming engine for about an hour. Make sure you follow correct procedures when filling your cooling system kiddies. Overheating an Alluminun engine is bad news.

Good to see you got it installed, in good time, too. Looks natural in there.

p.s. I've got timing covers f/s. You really don't want to be sitting on the side of the road for that.
