Post by entirelyturbo »

Hopefully no one minds my shameless plug, but I thought you all would enjoy my review of the 2011 STi sedan:

There were 800 STi Limited in 2007, not 400. A friend of mine here has one, it's #222 of 800.

Great article otherwise.

I knew I was getting rusty on my Subaru facts... fixed.

By the way, your feedback on the article is appreciated and extremely helpful. Anything you liked or didn't like, I'd love to hear about it.

Good article. 40k just plain ridiculous. There is absolutely no need for this car to cost more than 25k period!

If I'm not mistaken regular old wrx's are in the 25's ??? Am I just getting old or what the hell is going on here?

No I'm not going to rant about how a candy bar used to cost a nickel lol

What I found amusing was a short quote I just read from someone at Subaru about the next STI where they said it will remain a performance blah blah and that it's big with the kids. Too bad not many kids can afford 40 friggin' grand. Seems to me they should either sell something for adults or price it for these kids. The BRZ is the only thing they make that has any interest to me at all. I have a feeling that it too will be more than I'll want to pay.

It doesn't need to be affordable to kids, just their parents.

Which I guess explains perfectly why almost every STI owner I have had the misfortune to meet is a douchebag.

The new body style STi will be a hybrid. The Subaru engineer I talked to in October told me this, and seemed to indicate all the manufacturers for sporty cars were going in this direction. Whether that is true or not will have to be seen in a few years.

If the STi does go hybrid that will pretty much kill any aftermarket performance for the car....other than ripping the battery shit out. It will be said if they go in that direction, but they may have to in order to keep the car here in the states due to the stupid rising average fuel economy requirements.
