Got off early from work tonight and decided to do something worth while instead of going home and wasting time on the internet. Went to my mom's house and installed the horn that I snagged off the Justy before I sold it (poor justy I restored just to sell it to a guy who only wanted the engine) and it sounds AWESOME!

Lol... o

That horn sounds annoying. Good for a horn I guess. Some of their products are funny, like the hydrographic carbon fiber looking trumpet horns called Wolo-Bandito. I wonder who they're marketing those to?

I may have just found what I've been searching for: http://www.powerflex.co.uk/product-deta ... /1817.html

Can anybody confirm that these are right for 1st gen legacy? They're $80 after shipping so I'd like to avoid purchasing them if they're not going to fit.

Rear diff bracket bushings for "Early RA and UK WRX model Imprezas". Check this pic out:

The bracket looks more like the turbo legacy one, you would almost have to get measurements to know 100% for sure.

Josh said 93-94 GC impreza has the same bracket as ours but I can't find anywhere that sells bushings specifically for 93-94 GC, only 93-01 GC which should really be listed at 95-01 since apparently 93-94 still had the bracket and it happens to be offset like ours. 95-01 has no bracket, the bushings mount directly into the subframe. In 2002 subaru went back to the bracket but it was no longer offset but straight across and the bushings are now smaller I believe.

Here's the new style 02+ impreza bracket with bushings:

I probably would. I just hate it when I buy parts I can't use. Especially spendy ones which is most of them lol. For instance, I have this gloss black vinyl I ended up not using. Cost me $100 and nobody wants to buy it now.

I should have painted the ugly chrome circles on it first. Didn't realize how visible it would be and I hate chrome.

Kimo,

Those bushings look like they would work. Here's pics of the bracket that I took when I did my AWD swap.

I might be interested in getting those bushings. Wonder if they'd do a group buy...and you didn't find anyone in the states that sells them?

Nope. Nobody. Reason being is they're marketed for RA impreza and early WRX which, of course, are only sold overseas. No love for the legacy. Just as with almost everything on our cars, nobody ever made performance parts. I think they're here already. Mail lady dropped a notice in my mail box last saturday saying there was a package needing signed for and I could get it on the 10th but I think she forgot that was columbus day. Tomorrow I'll get them.

Can't wait to put them in. I haven't driven my car in a while. When I painted my roof I removed the trim on the windshield and rear window and now my windshield leaks bad on my passenger seat. Someone did a poor job installing that windshield. I also have a leak now that drips on my leg from the driver's window about 1/3 of the way up. Makes me real mad. I finally fixed my sunroof leaks and then this.

I did some hypermiling in the metro and got 47mpg! woot woot! Up 9mpg from my average of 38 driving fast. Strangely enough everyone on the geo metro forum says at 150,000 miles the exhaust valves burn up and the head has to be rebuilt. Mine is at 163,000 and runs like a champ. Maybe it's because I drive it like I stole it rather than putt around at 2,500 rpm all day. lol

Oh BTW, if you want to buy those bushings for the rear diff type in the part number on google shopping and you should be able to find them for sale from an eBay seller in the UK.

Nice find, I might have to get one as well. I see what you mean about the WRX bushings not working, was hoping to make the WRX bracket work but that looks like a bit of a project now.

Yeah that wouldn't work without major fabrication. Best to just spend the $80 and get legit bushings.

Dimensions? I had to think about that for a minute lol. I'll get them to you when I install them. I have a digital micrometer in my mom's garage. I got them today. They are of very nice quality and packaging.

They're bigger than I thought they would be.

Those look like quality pieces. If those fit, I might go that route too. Josh, if you set up a group buy, I'd be in.

@beatersubi How would delrin hold up? Does it have a spring-like memory like urethane? I thought delrin was more like teflon stock or p-tex, where it would deform fairly easily. Definitely under the condition of chassis bushings I would think. I'm only asking, and I have no automotive experience with either of the materials.

Delrin is harder and deforms significantly less than urethane. You'd notice a definite increase in NVH. Race cars regularly use delrin bushings.
