knock sensor

so i purchased a 1991 legacy SS that is supposedly from Canada with a ej20 in it, it looks swapped to me and my friends, but eh anyways where can I purchase a new knock sensor it is flashing the 22 code thanks

Auto parts stores should carry them.

Or get one used...just make sure it's not cracked. The older style w/the grey connectors cracked easily....the ones w/the white connectors were better.

I think you can use one up 'til '96. After that Subaru changed the connector type.

k well when I go to auto parts places they can only look up parts for the 2.2L and not the 2.0L so i just wanted to know if the knock sensor is the same :)

Basically the same for all EJ series engines although I think Josh determined through testing that the WRX and STI ones are more sensitive but I can't say for sure. Either way get any one you want. It's gonna be the grey connector one but it doesn't really matter because you can remove the connector and swap it with your old one. I did this and it's really easy.

by the way, it worked, I just went to oreillys and got a 1991 subaru knock sensor, old one was cracked up, just thought I would say thanks and that it worked
