Strut Tower Bars??

Hi there everybody! I have today a sort of interesting question for you guys!

Im looking for a strut tower bar for my 93 legacy turbo sedan.

Now here is where it get muddy and confusing...

I have gotten a set of DIRT cheap coilovers from a guy i know. They will work with some love.

The coils are HSD's from a 2005 STi.

To make them fit ill be notching the rear top hat bolt holes to fit.

SOOO with the gaping holes i will create i thought.... I should just slap in a tower bar to cover them up!

So your thinking just get a GC 93-01 impreza rear bar... Cant! i have an 05 sti top mount in there now.

So i will have to run a 02-07 imp tower bar....

Does anyone know of any widths and stuff reguarding the 02-07 impreza tower bars???

your best bet is to run tanabe strut bars for a sti. their bars are great quality and the length is adjustable. luckily, the sti strut towers are only about 1" wider than our cars.

Agreed- going to have to get a bar you can adjust by an inch or so.
Personally, I would not notch the car, but that is me.

Hmmm Well then.... If im not to notch my car. What can i do to make these coilovers work.

They are inverted HSD's off a 2005 impreza STi. Do you think i can just buy some new rear top hats for a GC? Or do your think i can just run the factory ss top hats??
Because im not going to kid you here. I could careless about them adjustable top mounts.... Like really im not that hardcore into doing alignments and stuff. Im after the lowering of my car even MORE and adjustable dampening.

I will have a picture of the HSD coilover and striped clean strut for a mental image for ya guys.

Cuz if i can run the factory top hats off my ss. that would be fruggen golden!!

Bottom line.....if you don't mind notching the chassis, you can make those struts fit. If you don't want to notch the chassis those struts as they sit won't work. You may be able to see if the manufacturer sells a top mount that is meant for the GC Impreza, which would then fit your car.
