Clutch release assembly clip issue

Post by speezly »

Maybe i am an idiot, maybe the clips are bent. I have done this once before and had no issues. I just replaced the rear main as i had pressed it too far into the block, and now my clips for the clutch release keeps falling off when i move the tranny to mate it to the engine. Sometimes they just come loose completely and fall out the bottom of the bellhousing. What am i doing wrong? I am going to pick up new clips from the dealer tomorrow, but they look the same as when i installed the clutch 200 miles ago. Does anyone happen to have detailed pics of a properly clipped release assembly? I miss driving my Legacy....

Glad you figured it out! And thank you for posting the followup so others know what to check if they have the same problem.
