AEM Tru Boost install (pics)

Post by Mister Anderson »

This is dedicated to sqc151. lol

I installed an AEM Tru boost into my 91 Legacy.

The red line comes off the manifold and goes to a 4 way tee (same place where the 3 way was). The red line then goes through the fire wall below the steering wheel and then to the gauge.

The yellow line goes to the stock pressure sensor. Do not bypass this or else the car will go nuts putting it into limp mode.

The green line comes off of the waste gate actuator and goes to the number 2 fitting on the AEM solenoid.

Finally the purple line comes off of the turbo out flow and goes to number 3 fitting on the AEM solenoid.

Do not hook up the factory boost solenoid, just by-pass it.

I mounted the gauge where the ash tray went. I cut out a piece of flat bar and used a template. I still believe I have the template for this. If you would like a copy I can scan it onto the computer.

I wired the gauge to a orange switched power wire below the dash. It is clearly marked that it is a switched 12v line. As for the ground just find a bolt/whatever to ground the gauge too. I do not have any pics of this ATM. I can take some if need be.

Yeah you can. if you hold the button on the left for 2 seconds. it has 3 settings A/B/OFF. Off is whatever the waste gate actuator is.

Where does the 4th line that isn't colored and comes off the splitter go to?

I'd imagine that one goes to the stock auxiliary purge control valve.

I found a picture on my phone with that line. I forgot what that is lol.

Another thing is try to keep the solenoid away from any high heat sources. Apparently it wont last long if mounted to close to the turbo.
