VERY eventful night last night:)

Post by boostjunkie »

I dunno what happened last night. Maybe there was a full moon out or something, but there were alot of cars out . . . and I couldn't help myself to the challenges. I'm not sure if you guys read my other post in the engine forum, but I'm now running 1.10bar/16.2psi on my legacy, an almost 2psi increase from before. The car is noticeably faster now  I know, I know, I shouldn't be doing this . . . but I couldn't resist and I HAD TO KNOW where my car stands in the automotive food chain!!

To summarize the night, eight races . . . and here's the breakdown:
E36 M3 (white, stock): beat it! The look on the owners face as I walked him . . . priceless. lol!

WRX (silver, stock): FINALLY got to run one. Let him get about a 3-4 car jump on me, before I closed the distance and passed him . . . HAHA!! Don't screw with the WRX's BIG BROTHER!!

CRX (sliver) w/ B18 swap and bolt ons: HAHA!!! Beat him by a fairly large margin . . . I slowed down to 55mph (posted speed 60mph) to let him catch up. He eventually pulls up next to me and matches speed. I turn on my interior light so he can see me gesture to go ahead but he doesn't budge. Blipping the throttle has a similar effect. Ah well . . . I think I can now say that I can beat pretty much any N/A honda without SERIOUS engine work. Nice!

Mustang GT (dark blue or black, stock): I was beating stock mustangs with my previous setup. Now I'm beating them by an even larger margin

S4 (blue, lowered): I'll explain the outcome, and then explain the mods. Okay, we setup going 65mph. I'm in 3rd gear (a little out of my powerband, I know) and the S4 lets me start the race. Faster than I could say "HOLY SHIT!" (yes, those exact words came out of my mouth) the S4 puts about a car length on me and continues to walk away from me until around 100mph where I keep him from pulling anymore. The mustang GT caught up with us about a minute after we shut down. Mod's? I come to find that this S4 has an intake, full exhaust and hi-flow cat, and is chipped to the tune of 1.1bar . . . I don't think I did THAT bad considering the circumstances

Head back the other way on the beltway and find, lo and behold . . . another S4 (sliver). This one's stock. Awwww damn, payback time. Same as the wrx I let him get ahead, this time 5-6 car lengths before realing him back in.

Neon (white, bodykit, lowered, 15" wheels, bolt ons): you'll like this one. First run, smoke him like he's standing still. Slow down and let him catch up. Second run, he sprays!! Why do I know this? Because he accelerates ALOT faster than before . . . but not fast enough. HAHA!! I think he needs another bottle (TFATF reference) . . .

Another neon (maroon, lowered, bolt ons): I'll let you guess after reading the above description.

MR-S - Not worth the description.

740i - Ditto.

There you have it. I'm not sure if you guys like this kinda "kill story" posting, but it's more meant to figure out how much power I'm putting to the wheels. So what say you?

It's cool to hear where we stand, even if others don't condone this type of behavior. Good work!

Dude, on the beltway??? That's shady.

Racing is like sex. You need enough quality track time to get it out of your system, otherwise you'll end up having nights that you regret! :D :D

Let me know when you're going to that junkyard. It looks like I've got a blown headgasket now :x so I may be in the market for a major upgrade
