Speaker harness plug question!

Post by logan9691 »

I need to know which wire is positive and which is negative or if it matters which is which. This is the plug that plugs into the front passenger speaker.

I'm not sure to tell you the truth since that doesn't match any of the wire colors in this diagram.

What year did that plug come out of?

Could use an continuity tester to definitely find out which speaker pair it's associated to...

plug it into the speaker and put a 12 volt battery accross the terminals. Which ever combination makes the speaker "pop" outward is the correct polarity for the color. i.e if it pops out with the batt + on the blue and Batt - on the gray then there ya go.

You can use a 9 volt battery too.....it may not pop out as much, but should still work.

yesh, I should have specified, doesn't need to be excatly 12 volts. I even think a AA batt will do the trick :)
