Remote oil filter and coller

Post by RSRally »

Hi,

I'm installing a remote oil filter and cooler, and looking for idea where others have installed these items, photos would be great.

Also what adapter plate to use, I was looking at this one I found while searching the forum for information.

The car is a turbo version so the timing cover and exhaust manifold are an issue, but I need to cool the oil as running a rally car in the tropics the engine gets very hot.

My idea was to run a small 13 row oil cooler in front of the radiator and the oil filter around where the ABS was. The exhaust manifold has been sprayed wrapped and the covers replaced, the oil lines crossing them will also have protective heat sleeves.

Oil Filter adapter like this one - http://www.jegs.com/i/Moroso/710/23764/ ... tId=745536

Any help would be appreciated.

Welcome to the BBS.

What you've described sounds like good options. I don't know of too many people that have done a remote oil filter setup. Hopefully some others will chime in.
