Anyone use aim? We should have a Legacy central chat! Keep bandwidth down a bit, and keep us all entertained :)

hit me on aim if you're interested.

Can I request that we keep good technical conversation on the BBS forums as much as possible? The nice thing about the forums as opposed to chat is that everything we say is saved for posterity...

Good idea. I just downloaded AIM. I'm under 'dantemoretti'. Hopefully I'll figure out how it works. Sometimes I feel like an old person with these things.

There are generally more people on AIM than there are on any other messaging service, at least among the car crowd from what I've experienced. At any rate, name of the chat should be "Legacy Central" whenever anyone wants to check it out, just invite yourself, there may be people. :)

What irc channel? Please explain.
Mirc is a good irc program for windows, just start it up and input the username email and password boxes, then choose your network (efnet) and one of the servers from there (any of them are fine, but one closer to you will give you a lower ping). Connect to that server, might take a few tries, and join #legacycentral either by typing "/join #legacycentral" in the status window or by using the channel menu that pops up. If you need more help just ask.

I prefere irc for group chats becuase the channel is always up and there is so much more you can do with irc than aim/yahoo/msn/etc
