hey everyone,
I am currently building a 2.2l out of a 97 legacy.
The setup its going to have until i get the money is going to be just stock n/a long-block with the heads ported and polished, along with the intake ported and polished as well. but i want to do the valve grind also.
does anyone know what kind of horsepower i can get from this setup with a fuel pump mod, injector, and exhaust mod. ?
once i get the money, i have two setups i know i cant decide, so input would be amazing.
1. 2.2l n/a short-block, 2.5l heads. a long with the td04 turbo setup, manual boost controller and some sort of management system.
the other setup.
2. 2.2l n/a short-block with the 2.2 n/a heads, ported and polished, bigger valves, ej22t valve springs, and ej22t cams. along with the intake ported and polished, and the fuel mods and the whole turbo setup.
Im not going to push allot of psi. i just want a quick rally cross engine.
thanks everyone
2.2l n/a block

Re: 2.2l n/a block
So are you planning to start off with the engine being non-turbo and then put a turbo on it? For all the differences, I'd suggest either just sticking with non-turbo or start with a turbo setup. It seems like you'd redoing a lot of stuff if you stayed non-turbo and then swap to turbo later.
If you go turbo, you'll need to likely reduce compression a little bit. Swapping to the 2.5 heads will affect compression, but I don't know how much it will change.
