Can you help identify these rails/injectors?
I bought these off of subydaddy without really knowing what they were. Would you guys be able to tell me what rails/injectors these are? More importantly what rails.

Re: Can you help identify these rails/injectors?
Maybe if you gave us the part numbers off the rails, we could google search it?

'92-94 EJ22 SOHC rails, is my best guess.

Not ej25d ones? Same color injectors.

Re: Can you help identify these rails/injectors?
^ My thoughts initially, but the rails have the holes on the other side for DOHC IM's, I believe.
Like this EJ25:
The bottom rail in his pic has the FPR connector on the right - flip it 180° and it would install like stock. - They are both 'upside down' in his pic.

Re: Can you help identify these rails/injectors?
The injectors look like an overseas injector and not the same color as the US 92-94 red injectors.
Todd's probably right about the rails unless their something odd from overseas.

Re: Can you help identify these rails/injectors?
Sweet. Okay so the 91-94 EJ22 rails are the magical ones that accept the 550* yellow top injectors right? Or am i misunderstanding something?
I have no idea what the injectors are. I am getting them flowed on monday because the car has been driving like shit and breaking up under WOT conditions at high RPMs. In the mean time i bought some 05 sti injectors for $100.

Re: Can you help identify these rails/injectors?
^I thought it was the '92-'94 rails, and according to opposedforces.com they were the same on the non-turbo EJ22 'til '98ish.
BTW, What year/model is your Legacy? If these are from something different than yours you may be no better off since the ECU is tuned for specific injectors, based on others' experiences.

Re: Can you help identify these rails/injectors?
The 92 - 94 non-turbo Legacy fuel rails were the only ones from the first gen Legacies that work with the STi 550's.

Re: Can you help identify these rails/injectors?
Pulled the rails yesterday. I wasn't able to find any part number. Looks like the wore off the sticker. But the STi 550s seemed to work with them.
Now my next question is about FPRs. I have 91 legacy with a revtronix stage 2 chip for a TD04 with 550cc injectors. In our last race we found that our FPR was blown. We weren't sure if its from the walbro 255 we are using or from a kink we found in the return line awhile ago. Ether way we replaced the FPR and the car seemed to drive better (still breaking up in high RPMs).
When i got home i search the forums and it sounds like i should be running my fuel pressure at 3bar to achieve ~550cc with the STi but from what I can gather the stock FPR doesnt achieve that? Is this true? If so is their a stock FPR that can achieve this and bolt on the 92-94 EJ22 rails?

Re: Can you help identify these rails/injectors?
I know it doesn't help you identify them, but I ran those with a Revtronix 550 tune as well with no problems.
The only time I had issues like you described with breaking up at high rpm under WOT was with a set of spark plugs that were gapped too wide.

Re: Can you help identify these rails/injectors?
It does help. I had our plugs gapped at the stock recomendation 0.043" and plan to decrease them to 0.032"subydaddy wrote:I know it doesn't help you identify them, but I ran those with a Revtronix 550 tune as well with no problems.

What concerns me is that one of the injectors has a differnt spray pattern then the other three. It only has one hole where the others have 4

Re: Can you help identify these rails/injectors?
I was fine with stock gap on NGK iridium plugs, but not with the v-powers.
That's weird about the spray patterns, I never even noticed. Is the injector built that way or is it possible a cap came off?

Re: Can you help identify these rails/injectors?
Looks like they were built that way. I am sending them out to get flowed, they will also note if the spary patterns look drasticly different.subydaddy wrote:I was fine with stock gap on NGK iridium plugs, but not with the v-powers.

Did you run the stock FPR when you ran these?

Re: Can you help identify these rails/injectors?
The stock FPR works fine with the 550's. You shouldn't have to mess with it.
I would not suggest running the one injector with the spray pattern being different. I think you may find that it may be a different injector than the others.

Thats exactly what i plan on doing.
I thought the stock FPR didnt achieve the 3 bar required to achieve 550cc/min?

Re: Can you help identify these rails/injectors?
It doesn't...those injectors are actually closer to 530cc @ 3bar....I know Josh's were higher, but the 2 sets I've tested were both 525-530cc.
Couple of NASIOC posts HEREand HERE.
But yes, the FPR is 3 bar. Per Josh:

But yes, the FPR is 3 bar. Per Josh:
TDThe FPR’s are the same on the turbo & non-turbo engines. Both are 1:1, and as you found out same part #. ..... I’m using my stock FPR from when my car was AT & auto <non-turbo>….no problems. If you have a gauge, you can test the FPR, and check to see that pressure is being reduced at idle with the vacuum line plugged in, and it should increase when you remove the vacuum line.

Re: Can you help identify these rails/injectors?
Based on my logs from my Link, I'm making about 43 psi of fuel pressure which is approximately 3 bar at 5 psi of boost. Around atmosphere, fuel pressure is around 36 psi. So to say our fuel system won't make 3 bar is not correct. Fuel pressure will increase with boost pressure. So at higher boost, say another 10 psi, I should see another 10 psi of fuel pressure.

Re: Can you help identify these rails/injectors?
Got the fuel rates back. They were not 550cc injectors. One flowed something like 720 and another flowed 660. I also had them test the FPR and they said it was to 39psi at baro.
Looks like i was right for questioning these injectors...

Re: Can you help identify these rails/injectors?
Somethin's up w/that.....unless those are 'modded' injectors or from some other brand, they shouldn't flow that high.
Maybe from a Nissan??? They share similar style side-feeds.
At what pressure were they tested?
Strange.....
