they do not need to be stock from the 2.5 gt as I know those are hard to come by, just something that will fit. Anyone have anything or any suggestions on what else will work?

Hey ... I heard sideskirts from an 96-00 outback can work.

Thanks Tex! I was unclear about if they needed to be modified to fit, but I bet it wouldn't be that hard anyway.

I haven't done it yet, but I was going to give it a try once I found some at a Pull a Part or relatively cheap.

I believe that this car has them:

I believe they need to be modified, but it's easy to shorten sideskirts, lengthening is not easy, I know WRX sideskirts are too short, and I'm pretty sure GC Impreza are as well.

Outback skirts fit well if you chop about 4" off the end. But the problem is, how do you mount them? I have some that I never put on because they're a pain in the ass to bolt on and I'm not using double sided tape on body parts like the black car in the pic above.

Why no double sided tape? I've been told it works pretty damn well. Some cars actually have their spoilers(and various trim pieces and whatnot) held on with it from the factory

I work in an industry where we use high strength double sided tape quite often. I see no harm in it.

Apex is spot on, lots of cars use it from the factory.

Go for it then. Better not be me behind you when that side skirt comes off on the freeway.

I know it sounds sketchy, but we're not talking about your average scotch tape here, the stuff is ridiculous, the skirts aren't going anywhere.

I HATE that stuff! That's what car manufactures use for spoilers and other body parts, it is annoyingly strong and is a HUGE pain to get off, I've broken a few spoilers thanks to that stuff.

What I would do and what ill end up doing eventually is use the 3m exterior super strength double sided tape to tape it to the sides and screw in one of the ends. That way even if it falls off it won't come off the car right away. Ill also add a back or two underneath the car to keep it in place. One end has to be hopped off because its lik 4" too long so you can screw in both ends or it would be a lot easier and nothing is ever easy on these cars except routine maintanence haha.

If someone knows a good fiberglass manufacturer, I have a full set of JDM rear and side skirts for the SS I could loan for reproduction tooling.
Yes I have too many Subarus

OH MAN!!! Just moved back to Florida and there are TONS of fiberglass shops in my area! Can you please snap some pic's and take measurements for estimating purposes? I will get on this asap! If I can find someone to work with I'm also interested in fiberglass hoods and trunks.

Lol oh boy. Here we go again. I hope you can pull it off. It just seems like this happens at least once a year and eventually the person just disappears and nothing ever comes of it. Same with the fiberglass hoods.

It's a conspiracy. It'd be fantastic if it panned out just once, but it's always "planning planning planning planning sudden disappearance."

I feel as though if we ever managed to get to the last stage that it would end up being too cost prohibitive for someone to take it on as an actual project though.

I think that's the biggest factor. Price is probably $500-1,200 for a pair of side skirts to be made due to proper mold building cost and man hours/materials. Not many people willing to throw down that kind of cheddar on some side skirts. Unpainted, no less.

no kidding. I mean, just getting a mold of the rear lip seems like it would take a lot of time and effort. But there's like what? 30 or 40 very active members on the board? Even if every single one of them wanted a rear lip, it would probably be hard to justify the effort and cost for a one time mold.

Shit, I think it would be more like 2 or 3 people when it comes down to it that would be serious once they see the prices.

It's a shame too. Reasonably, the more people who opt in the cheaper it should theoretically be. But yeah, there probably wouldn't be more than ten people (super optimistically) who would want one. I want one, but i can't afford one unless it's like 100 or 125. But that seems highly unlikely.
