will this ecu work?

I have a subaru legacy l. I am currently rebuilding a motor and I am trying to find a ecu that can work my turbo build. I wanting to rob tune this ecu. They say it is a ej20g ecu from 1996 wrx I just want to know will it work with my setup and can i just plug it in or do i have to rewire things.

I've looked over this listed before I posted didn't see anything that matched so i posted this only because that posted says it's a incompleted list.

Did a little looking around and I think that ecu may be a 3 pin. I think for our cars the conversion requires a 4 pin ecu. Maybe some of the more knowledgeable people will be able to help.

Yes, you need a 4-plug ECU to do a RobTune. If yours is a 3-plug, it will not work.

how eazy is it to find a 4 plug ecu? If I see one should I try to get it right way because their rare or should I hold out for a good deal?

I may know where to get you one. I just bought one and the guy had another one for 125, I asked him if he still has it. I'll let you know what he says if you are interested. Its a v5, its on the list.

Just wait. You'll find one. I found one on craigslist but ended up selling it off before I used it. You shouldn't pay more than $150 or so and can probably pay even less if you hold out for a good deal. Mine was $80 I think.

If you're in no hurry, hold out for a deal. EJ20G's were common overseas, there's NO shortage of them.
