dash light dimming

need some help. my interior dash lights are not working.

how do you brighten and dim the dash lights?

In the US model, with the dial ring on the headlight switch stick. If you have it on 1, you pretty much can't see it.

Looks like mines is failing to work from dial 1 to dial 4 (max).

yat here. just got the car back from FLI yesterday and noticed that my 91 legacy ss has no dash lighting.

Hi Yat,

I would suggest checking all the fuses first. It may be something as simple as that. Check fuse 9 in the fuse box under the dash. Here's the fuse box diagram with the numbers listed.

If the fuse is good or replacing it doesn't work, the illumination control module may be bad or got fried.

Does the light behind the push buttons on your heating and cooling control work? It is tied to the same circuit.

Check the 10A #9 fuse in the foot well. If it's not blown, use a test light. This is downstream of lighting relay.

Attach cord to grounded body part and touch the exposed pin on top of the fuse with the needle end. It should light up when the light is switched on.

If you're not getting voltage here, it means that lighting relay is not getting energized.
