I just bought this battery since I just remembered my subaru has no battery since I stole it to use in my metro! This battery was pretty cheap only $80 plus free shipping. It's got 850 Cranking amps, only weigh 13.5 lbs and it's tiny at only 3"D x 7-1/2"W x 6-1/2"H.

Never heard of this brand but it's got a lot of good reviews on this site. Who knows, we'll see. It will eventually be mounted in my trunk. I'll let you guys know how this battery holds up.

Hopefully you don't need to run any electronics with the car off for too long! That's only got a 20AH reserve rating. Good CCA rating, but I wouldn't use it as a primary battery. I'd rather have an Interstate or Orbital. It will be good for weight savings though.

It's only 3" thick.

Its way smaller than the normal battery. Look at those dimensions. I'm not too worried about it. No amp or accessories to run. I don't leave anything on when the car is off so it should be fine. Plenty of those people in those 40+ reviews use it as their only battery so I think it should be ok. If not, it was $90 and ill sell it for an odyssey pc680 and call it good.


Saving me 24 lbs in weight and if I move it to the rear its removing 37 lbs front my front end.

that battery is more for a rear battery for a small stereo. they are a decent brand.

Shuriken 15 lb battery. Gonna need to modify the cables to fit this and the stupid posts I bought with it which were also Shuriken are too big to fit in the holes in the battery so I have to temporarily use these tiny little bolts that came with it. I think there might have been another version of the battery with regular size holes for SAE terminals that I should have gotten just for the larger bolt holes, not to use battery terminals. Oh well, I'll make it work. As long as it's secured nicely it won't be an issue.

The positive and negative are on the wrong sides too. NOTE: If you buy this battery and you get the posts with wingnuts that they recommend in the battery description on sonicelectronix make sure you get the M5 posts and not the one they have a link to because those are M8 and when I got them I noticed right away that they were WAY too big for this battery and I have emailed them and asked for a replacement right away. You would think they would notice that but I guess they just grab the stuff and box it for shipment ASAP.

Took the clutch and flywheel off tonight after work so I can run it in to the machine shop to have them resurface it. That is, if they can do it. I don't know how it works with these removable inserts. It looks like a light pass will suffice though. Kind of looks like a small fragment of some debris got caught between the clutch disc and the flywheel putting a little gouge in the surface. It's not too bad though.



The rusty flywheel on the bottom right is a 1.3L 4 cylinder Geo Metro flywheel I'm having resurfaced as well for my metro. Mine is only a 1.0L 3 cylinder but I'm upgrading to a 1.3L flywheel and Clutch because I'm hoping it will be stronger and have a harder clutch feel to it, more like my subaru.

How many miles on your clutch disk? Looks fairly worn to me. Usable, but worn.

About 10-12,000. Not much. Looks pretty good to me...In person anyways. It's totally usuable. I could have probably put a new throw-out bearing in and slapped the tranny back on and drove it around for another 25,000+ miles I bet.

A huge thank you to my friends CJ, Patrick (randomiam) and max for helping me all day today. The car is alive again with a new trans case, new clutch and flywheel, new ss braided clutch hose and a new battery. WCSS here I come! Pretty sure all of them are gong as well. Bummed robert didn't make it today but he should be at the show as well.

I worked on that car from 10:30am-12-30am and it fired right up after a bit of cranking. Only took one break for an hour to eat. 13 hours of wrenching and this kid is BEAT. All on 3 hours sleep.

Hows that input shaft bearing?

I forgot to listen for the input shaft bearing but the speedo gear swap did not help. Its worse than before! Now its reading about 15% faster than I'm actually going. Stupid.

Yeah 70 mph actual speed is about 80 on the speedo. So annoying. And the input shaft bearing is still bad.
