Weird shudder/knock at idle in D and R

Just noticed this last night, when I start the car up and its in idle in reverse or drive I get this weird vibration/shudder/slight knock in the engine bay, not sure where its coming from but I can really feel it when I hold my foot to the brake pedal, in park and neutral its fine, my car is automatic

Any ideas? Oh and it goes away once I start accelerating

I'm thinking it might be my tranny?

192k, 93 legacy ss, mods are a tmic, cat back and other things that I know wouldn't affect this

I lied I can still slightly feel it under accelerating but hardly! And its intermittent

What TMIC? My '06 WRX TMIC sometimes had a problem where it rattles against the igniter perch or the hood, but some strategically placed rubber fixed that right up.

When it was doing it, mine was louder at idle for sure. I can feel it through the brake and clutch pedal when it does it.

Hmmm I was messing with it the other night installing a new bpv, its an 02/03 so the larger one but I've never had the problem before.... I was thinking tranny fluid low possibly or bearing but the intermittent wouldn't make sense then, ill mess round with the tmic and see if that helps, that's an excellent point though thnx, never woulda thought!

Tweaked the tmic a bit and so far the problem hasn't come back so hopefully that's it, Thnx so much, I was freakin out for s min lol

If it does come back....check your motor mounts....they may be worn.

It has come back... Not as much though, was thinking of using rubber shroud on the backend of the tmic, if it continues after that ill buy some sti motor mounts

It has been coming back worse and worse.. also when the tranny shifts from first the second unless I'm barely accelerating it feels like the engine lunges back with a thump... Does this sound a lil more like motor mounts?

Also check your pitch stop that goes from the firewall to the bellhousing.
