Do any hood struts fit 1st Gen legacys? Have a set for a GC RS, and while everything bolts together beautifully, the hood won't close due to the strut bodies hitting the water channel on the fenders.

It's actually a friend's set but I was installing em. The brand is ixic concept.

Can you take a little bit of metal out of the water channel to make them work correctly?
