1998/1999 version5/6 sti steering rack

hi i`ve been looking for some info on these racks as i have been offered a free one but ain`t sure if it will directly fit onto my 1993 legacy turbo,will the lines directly fit in the rack from the pump?.will i need to modify the U joint to the steering column?.
as i am trying to solve a steering issue thats been bugging me for a while now.replaced the pump for a re-conditioned one,checked the lines from pump to rack and no leaks,doesn`t seem to be leaking from rack either.problem is steering seems ok going left but getting stiff/hard steering going to the right.

I highly doubt the lines will bolt to your pump. I tried using a pump from a 97 forester jdm and the threads didn't match.

i want to try and keep my original lines on the pump only the rack i want to replace.
