Magnecor wire installation

Post by ride_child »

Sooo i just changed my spark pluge, put on some kv85's and a diamond coil pack and damn is everything much smoother! but before i installed anything, i was researching other peoples experiences with the install and it seems like everyone had a hard time getting the boots to click onto the plug. mine went on relatively easy and im pretty sure i heard them click. i know after a while i can pull them off and check for scorching to see if they were actually seated properly, but i was wondering if there were any other indicators i could watch out for that there were some issues? like i said the car seems to run much smoother so im assuming that it went ok, but just checkin my chickens.

Thanks in advance for the help,
Kris

P.S. the site fuckin rocks, ive learned sooo much from all of you, its been priceless! im happy to be a part of this ever since i picked up my leggy from wcss '11 when it was for sale right outside of the park!

Welcome to the board! You should be able to feel the click. I always pull them off and do them again if there's any doubt. Use some spark plug boot dielectric grease to make it easier to seat them on the plugs.

ill have to do that, but i cant push the boots any farther down into the valve cover/head. i even did like vikash said and used some needlenose to pull the terminal out a touch. ill have to keep an eye on it for a couple days and recheck.

Thanks,
Kris
