zoo mob im pretty sure your seatbelt is jammed. there are two ways on attacking this problem ghetto and right way
first the right way and only way
take off the trim and look to see why the mouse is not moving if the cable is running up and down by the motor than the motor is fine and you stated that the track wouldnt budge when you tried the allen wrench . so its either stuck jammed or fell of the track or the wire came off snapped off or broke off
the ghetto way is to wack it to see if it can come loose since it sounds like it is stuck

if your belts didnt work and you swapped the computer and they worked for a while and now they dont work than i think you are just going to keep on burning up computers in my opinion you have a short somewhere so pull the codes look it up and we do have a thread dedicated just to the automatic belts

Re: Seatbelt troubleshooting
I think the mechanic moved my driver seat belt slider up the track by hand, now it won't go in either direction. Doesn't feel jammed, just kinda loose in the track, but won't slide. Chime doesn't work, belt motor doesn't hum. The seat belt indicator flashes quickly, there doesn't seem to be a pattern I can discern. Can there be something affecting the whole shebang?

Welcome to the BBS.
There's a code stored in the seat belt computer. Here are instructions on how to pull the codes and determine what the problem is.

The wire you need to ground the pin on is tucked up under the dash. You'll need to probably hunt for it.

Re: Seatbelt troubleshooting
Thanks for the info. I've read it over and don't see anything about how to fix things after you determine the problem -- do you have that too? I'm trying to decide whether to hunt for a broken wire or blown fuse etc, or to just move the slider to a permanent place and attach the belt by hand every time I get in and out of the car. I've lived with a nice slider for 16 years but my previous cars had manual seat belts -- you get used to it!

Re: Seatbelt troubleshooting
Have you checked the seat belt computer for stored codes? If so, what were they? That will help point you in the direction of what to replace/fix.
Here's the wiring diagrams for the auto seat belts

Those diagrams look good -- I'll start digging around. Thanks for your time.

Re: Seatbelt troubleshooting
Is the mechanism in the automatic seatbelts interchangeable between '90-'94 Legacies?

Re: Seatbelt troubleshooting
Yes I believe they should be. We used the mechanism or at least pieces of what came out of my 90 in a 93.
