RS Steering Column on an Legacy Turbo

Post by MConte05 »

Can anyone give me a straight answer on if a 93 Impreza steering column will work on a 94 turbo steering rack? Looking to buy a steering column with a 1.5:1 reducer installed for the rally car, but it is out of a 93 Impreza.

Pretty sure it would work, as most of the early BC parts were compatible with the GC.
BUT take into consideration ALL of the electrical parts that are attached to your steering column.
If you are gutting the electrical parts, ( as if for a rally car you might be) then this may not be an issue.

If you want 100% confirmation, go to your local pick n pull and pull both columns and look.
The length is about right, but the only thing I might be worried about is where it bolts up to the dash brackets, as that will definately be different in both cars.
Yes I have too many Subarus

Yea, the mounting is what concerns me.

That is the RS column that I am looking to buy. Trying to find a picture of a legacy column out of the car to compare mounts.
