Relocating Ignition Module?

Post by tsbpenguin »

Hey,
I'm finishing my ej22t swap on my 93 n/a and I am looking to install a wrx tmic in the process. The only thing holding me back is the ignition module sticking up in the middle of the firewall. Is it safe to relocate this module? If so, where should I put it, and anything else I need to keep in mind? Thanks.

There is a bolt for ground that goes from that mounting plate to the trans and you can mount it there so its below that place it originally bolts to and its out of the way. That's where mine is. Its just to the left and below when you're looking at it. There's a picture somewhere in my build journal if you want to take a couple hours reading through it haha.

Mine is bolted to the bolt hole on the driver's side of the perch, like Kimo's.

If the pictures ever start working again, see this thread under "Igniter Relocation":
