Indeed that is quite stupid. Stealing almost any road sign is pretty stupid. There are a few that I think were a bit of a waste of tax dollars such as a sign warning me that the speed changes soon and right afterwards another sign to tell me exactly what the new speed is. Retarded.

fwiw there is a company that supplies road signs here in Canada and they sell them to the public.
I have several signs in my garage 3 foot stop signs are only $60 new

I wonder if there's a similar company here.

I'll probably start out with the election signs that are floating around. I was told to wait until after election day to pick some up, so i'll probably collect a few. If i notice a significant enough mileage difference, i might try and make one out of metal or a road sign.

So it's hindering someone's first amendment rights to take signs down now. Apparently after the election you're less likely to catch flak for it.

That being said, i was thinking about it and the plate would get pretty close to the exhaust headers right? Should i be worried that the sign would melt because of the heat?

it will melt the plastic forsure but the rear of the car could be done just leave space for the exhaust
