Engine wiring harness, will an n/a one work?

Headlights to tailights and everything in between.

Engine wiring harness, will an n/a one work?

Post by mike-tracy »

So I have a long term engine project in the shed.

-Ej22t block
-turbo DOHC heads
-egr-less n/a dohc intake manifold.
-N/A crossover pipe

It will be going into my 91 Legacy SS.

I was wondering if I could simply use an n/a 90-91 intake manifold harness as is? I read that when swapping to a turbo, the cam and crank wires need to be modified, but that is not the case here as I'm not converting, right? Remember, I'll use an n/a crossover pipe that matches the wiring harness. Purge control solenoid isn't a factor either since my ecu doesn't control it.

Use whatever engine harness matches the chassis you are going to put it in. If it's going into your 91 SS, you should use the turbo legacy harness which has two square plugs & one round plug. You can move wiring around so they fit the sensor locations on the intake manifold. That's much easier than trying to repin things at the connector behind the battery.
