sigh, just what i needed

so i get a call from a friend while im at work needed some road side assisstence cause his car wont start. i agree to meet up after work, so on my way there i turn on to the road hes on and then POW! car runs like shit and is loud as hell. i knew it had to be a spark plug that just shot out. i help him with his car with no luck to get it running. we decide to work on my car so we're not totally stranded. find out the spark plug was barley threaded into the head and it toke them with it. so i just got home about an hour ago started ripping into the motor to get it ready to be pulled.

everyone! go check to make sure that YOUR sparkplugs are nice and snug. and if your wondering, no i was not the one who put them in. i just got this car.... grrrr!!

don't anyone elts to end up going down this road with me. hahaha

I had the same thing happen to me on a trip from Colorado to Pa in a 93 wagon. Some where in middle of no-where Ohio it shot out. Tried to fix it in a Walmart parking lot since they were the only one open at 5 am. Just ended up driving the rest of the way on 3 cylinders. Put a helicoil in and my dad still drives it. Just rolled 200,000

Yeah, the threads can be repaired. Helicoil works. I used a time-sert and was very happy with it. Here's my thread with info & pics.

i toke it to my mechine shop and jut had them run a die down it to strightegn the threads or try to.

got back home and it still didn't work. so i toke it back down there and just asked to do the helicoil insert.

after work i have to go down there to pickup my head.

so far its a $170.00 "mistake"
