Welcome to the BBS.

There is not supposed to be a fuse in the FWD fuse holder. That is only if you want to disable the AWD.

My suggestion would be to first check the trans fluid and make sure you have the appropriate level in there. It needs to be checked after the car has been driven at least 10 miles. Park on a flat surface, slowly cycle from P to 1 and back to P. Leave the engine running, and check the fluid level on the trans dipstick, which is on the right side of the engine (when standing in front of it). The fluid should be pink in color. If it's dark and/or smells burnt, it should be drained and filled with fresh ATF, dextron IV or higher.

I would also suggest checking the TCU for any stored codes.

I don't know much about autos, but that was one of the symptoms of mine when the torque converter was going out. Fluid levels were fine, but it was hesitant to shift or lock up or unlock or whatever autos do.

With the nose pointed up on a hill, starting from a stop was a waiting game, then it violently shifted, or even slipped backwards! I thought my tranny was on it's last legs. That tranny shift fluids (like Tranny Honey) would work for a week or so of nice shifting, then go back to normal.

Tranny had 245k miles on it then. I swapped in a fresh engine with ~74k miles, along with the torque converter, and lo and behold I have a working tranny again! I mean it drives really nice for a 290k tranny that had 90k miles behind an ej25 that I thrashed mercilessly.

I also replaced the input shaft seal on the tranny when I initially installed the ej25 (due to a major leak since I pulled the engine without unbolting the torque converter, whoops!), but that was on the original torque converter and didn't change how the tranny shifted.

If you do swap torque converters, make sure you replace the input seal, and also match the TQ converter to it's flex plate cause there are a couple bolt patterns which don't interchange.
