1993 legacy ss need help please look!

Alright so in July I lost 1st gear and drive it without it fir awhile then I parked ad occasionally started it. It sat till September and I drove it to the mechanics to get a tranny put in. It ended up being the wrong one. Then it sat for about 2 months with no tranny in it or inter cooler on it. We too it out and got a tranny put in it yesterday and when we start it the idle stumbles a bit. When you drive it and get to like 2500-3500 rpm it looses all power and stumbles really bad then try to shut off an the check engine light flickers on and off and puffs a little black smoke. Please help we do not know what it is!!!

I would highly recommend you check the ECU for codes. The check engine light came on and left a code, this will help you narrow down what the problem is.
