WTB: 5mt main input shaft or whole 5mt working transmission
I am looking for a main input shaft for a 91 turbo Legacy 5mt. I'll take the whole transmission if the price is right.

When do you need this?
I was going to tear down the 5spd and figure out where the missing gear tooth is from. I'm hesitent to sell it as is because I don't know what it looks like inside....plus I'd like to take it apart

Any time works. Take your time with that trans Josh, and let me know when you have the part/tranny available.
I found my old used shaft with 200K miles on it at my buddys shop. I will instal it in the mean time in one of the trannys I have broken. I'd like to rebuild both, and there are no new shafts available from Subaru in the US at the moment.
I broke 2 2nd gears in 4 months....it has to be the super steep torque curve from the 22t heads, it's almost vertical when approaching 300+ wheel torque. I only make 300-330 ft/lbs peak wheel torque.

Ok, yeah I'll let you know when I get it apart and how things look.
Yeah, the torque with these motors is pretty nice, which is one of the things I really enjoy
