Well, the crazy a/f problem decided to rear it's ugly head this morning, although not as bad as before.
The problem went away a few days ago and the only difference that I could tell between normal and screwy readings was when the weather changed. Last night the weather warmed up to the 50 degree range, and that's when I first started to notice the varying a/f ratios. This morning we are still in the 50s and the problem is still there.
So what sensors, connections, or whatever could be affected by a 30 degree change in temps? Coolant temp? Idle air temp?
Also, can injectors overheat? I know it's a crazy question but they do have 200,000 miles on them and I'm wondering whether they could be on their way out (finally).
I'm cleanching at straws here:(

D'oh!!! :(
There is no idle air temperature sensor.
Maybe you should try running a bottle of Techron injector cleaner next time you fill up. It couldn't hurt anything.
Was there also a difference in humidity? Humidity can affect almost any sensor or harness...boostjunkie wrote:So what sensors, connections, or whatever could be affected by a 30 degree change in temps?
The coolant temperature sensor could be at fault... but since it's immersed in coolant I don't know. That should be fairly simple and cheap to swap out. I believe the sensor is the same on all BC/BFs and at least the early GC/GFs. Part number 22630AA041.Coolant temp? Idle air temp?

I think so. One of the advantages of side-feed injectors over top-feed is better cooling since the fuel flows past the body. I don't know exactly what the symptoms of overheating injectors are. Also, can injectors overheat?

Yes, the proverbial thorn in my side returns . . .
Hmmm, I'll see what I can do about that sensor. I need to figure out how to check the sensor. I tried downloading Legacy777s diagnostic list for all the sensors, but I still can't open the file.
I'll try running a little injector cleaner. As a matter of fact, I "thought" that was the problem before. Ran some STP concentrated injector cleaner and a day or two later the symptoms went away. I have no idea whether that really was the culprit or not.

what version of adobe acrobat reader do you have?
have you d/l'd the latest one? I think it's like 6.
If you haven't done that, do that, install it, and then try opening. If you still have probs, let me know the exact error you get.
