engine rebuild with old parts
Well here is my story I have a 90 subaru leg2.2 na motor it had 325 thou miles in it it was wore out so I took the block I had. Put all my parts from my engine used the heads and water pump from old motor. when I got it done it would not run I found out it was timing so. I got new timing belt got it right it ran great but it would not go down freeway over 2500 rpms on cruise it would back fire and loose power I found out it might be the tbs trottle positions sensor I got one from wreck yard the throttle boday use the whole thing finally I got it runing right has more power then it has had in 4 years runs great I hope it helps others

Re: engine rebuild with old parts
I had this old coot that would buy used bearings from american v8's and use them to rebuild his full size van engine, when I worked at the junkyard. From what he said, they would last 10-30k miles then he would rebuild them again. I never found out why he did this, but he was arrested later in the year for smashing headlights and threatening people with a hammer.
