I think its a great way for a legacy to die. Very honerable death. Better than giving its life to power a VOLKSWAGON UGHH

I'm sure it was pretty fast with the greatly increased horsepower/weight ratio.

Yes, The RU is dead and buried out in the middle of nowhere.

The Legacy Wagon had an "incident" involving bald race tires, rain, and a large metal pole. That is what prompted the crazy project.

The machine took insane amounts of abuse; everything from dust and rain in the open MAF, to jumping across bulldozer dirt mounds. The oil pan looked like Mike Tyson had pummeled it. Eventually, another driver happened to T-bone the Ru into a Celica during a wheel-to-wheel rally stage and caused too much damage to be able to repair. The RU still drove though!

"Vehicular Lunacy" the DVD has some shots of the RU during it's life as a street/rally machine.

IMV Films' next DVD will blow away the previous one upon it's release in Spring 2004. It features a 20 minute documentary film entitled "The Legacy of the Ru". There is a short clip of the Ru vs. a Chevy Nova on the same oval track. Quite interesting.

Here is the trailer... in case you haven't seen it:

I'm on First and First. How can the same street intersect with itself? I must be at the nexus of the universe.

Maybe if VW weren't such utter crap they wouldn't have to cannibalize real cars. Why people love those garbage bin vans is beyond me, it's not like an old Alfa where it at least has personality.
