Maybe someone can answer this question, but why did Subaru go from tapered rear springs to non-tapered in 92? Were the 90-91 better, or were the 92-94 ones better?

Did Z1 up the prices? I thought I saw them for less than that a while ago.

yeah I think it might be cheaper to get all 4 (non-tapered) from somewhere else and buy new springs. Well, it might be a little more with the springs, but still overpriced.

If you could find a non tapered legacy in the junk yard it would be far cheaper to use the standard STI mounts. It would also open up your options of aftermarket springs.

Why buy STI mounts if you plan to use stock springs or whitelines designed for FWD Sedans?

im not buying those, I was just pointing those out for others if they had or were thinking about replacing their springs with stock, and just wanted a little more stiffness. If I were to replace the topmounts I would just get sti and aftermarket springs.

Okay. I still say STI tops for tapered springs is the wrong way to go.

For myself, I already have the sti mounts & whiteline tapered springs. There'd be no reason/way I'd swap, just to get non-tapered. The spring rate difference between tapered & non-tapered is not much at all.
