Yes, that tire is bald. Thanks to the vandals on Halloween, it now has all new tires, so I don't want to hear it!

Ciper, are you a lawyer? Yeah, intake to snorkel...
The vent I assume you mean the scoop shown. Its a brake cooling duct I got from either Demon Tweeks or Graham Goode. I can't remember, but it was like $12US. It fit almost perfectly to the contours of the bumper and any difference was adjusted with a heat gun. Then I just allen bolted it on. There's a length of air intake hose off a Ford in the same diameter as both the fender intake to the air box and the brake duct. Despite snow and sometimes Noah-threatening quantities of water, I have never had any problem with ingesting stuff, though I do have to clean the K&N a little more frequently. Helps make a nice little induction roar and since the rest of the car is subtle people wonder what its got and think its a sleeper. Eventually it will be.

Taka an N/A Legacy, throw a load of filth on the engine and you can see what it looks like in person.
There's nothing visible from the inside.

That looks really trick. Does the vent get enough surface area to become a high pressure point? I know it shouldn't be a low pressure point being near the leading edge of the car... well I guess it'd have to be a lot better than what the stock unit sucks from now. Find out where you got it from... I think I wanna try it.
It kinda looks like an air duct for the brakes. It certainly doesn't look like it doesn't belong there. I'd also have used black screws, but I think it looks cool anyway.

Couldn't find black screws at the time, plus I was thinking of putting a grassroots racing style airdam to match under the bumper (ABS plastic like my old GL had). Never bothered with the airdam as I found it to be unnecessary (helped the old GL, though). I thought of putting it underneath, too, but I wanted it up high as we do get some water around here and thought every inch could count. I like the look of it since most people don't notice (like cops) and those that do wonder what it's for. I let them guess and since its the only thing on it except for the lights and modest wheels they rightfully assume it's real and incorrectly assume it actually has something hiding under the hood. It's not obvious at all, as its a car no one looks at and people don't usually cast their eyes down anyway. Not sure how much power it added (felt like a little over 80mph), but it sounds neat.

very nice work.. i'm impressed.. does it really pull as well as everyone says after we've all mod'd the snorkus assembly, or do you think it's all in your head?
either way, between the shape, position and aesthetics of the addition, i hope it works as sweet as it looks. Do us a favor and figure out where you got that piece, i know i'd like one...
What do you mean by ducts? Like a scoop kind of thing like Steve's? I've also seen small scoop put on the hood that is sitting on the forward passenger side of the hood. Over hte spot that a 2.5 RS hood would have a vent. If you had a pipe going directly from that to the airbox that could be cool.
Also, I don't know if it will help, but on Dave's site, he has an article were some guys remade the air path in the liberty.

I am almost positive I got it from Demon Tweeks, but I can't find them on the website. I ordered it from the catalog about 5 yrs. ago. It's an 8" brake duct. They had a 6" and a larger size, plus clear ones and double clear ones for windows, too.
